Who We Are

The work of the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness is to keep our community focused on the solutions.

  • We help set public policy to prevent and end homelessness.
  • We advocate for the most effective use of our collective resources.
  • We oversee nationally-identified best practices.

We see the impact of our collaborative actions every day in:

  • Homelessness Prevention - avoiding and deterring homelessness
  • Outreach - connecting the homeless with essential services
  • Permanent Housing - rapidly re-housing the homeless in apartments in our communities

Research shows that being in one’s own home can stabilize even those who have been chronically homeless for years.

By directing our resources to those who need them most, the homeless can be rapidly re-housed and receive necessary services quickly to give them the support they need to remain relatively independent and healthy in their new homes.

We are working to ensure an adequate supply of rental units that are affordable to people who work at all income levels.

And we are partnering to develop meaningful jobs for people transitioning from homelessness back to self-sufficiency.

We need your help to bring these solutions home.

Only with the awareness and commitment of everyone can we end homelessness in our county.

We can.
We must.
We will.
