Volunteer

Volunteer to serve at Project Homeless Connect, a twice-yearly outreach connecting the homeless with critical services in Mercer County. Come get involved! Greet our guests, serve them meals, distribute needed supplies, or get a group organized in advance to collect new clothing, socks and personal hygiene products to give away— always so needed!

If you're good at taxes, volunteer to be a tax preparer at one of our sites and help the working homeless receive the tax credits that they have earned. Make a difference to a low-wage earner!

  • Volunteer your time and talents to assist the Alliance. Donate a day a week to answer phones or help in the office. Help with the newsletter, fundraising, coordinating events, research projects. Let us know. We can put you to work. Contact us at info@merceralliance.org.

  • Volunteer to be a Tax Preparer at a Free Site. Help working families get the tax credit they earned. With FREE training and volunteering a few hours a week from mid-January to mid-April, you personally can make a BIG difference in the lives of working families.

  • Arrange an Alliance presentation at your workplace, congregation, or civic group. We will provide a speaker and written materials to educate and inform your group about the causes and solutions to homelessness.

  • Join the Alliance at legislative hearings, rallies, and conferences. Via Action Alerts. Educate yourself and make your voice heard.

  • Attend local council or planning board meetings where housing issues are being discussed. Speak up on the need for affordable housing for service workers, the vulnerable and disabled, your parents and your children.
